Balsa Wood Board by George Robinson

Since 1970, George Robinson has been manufacturing high quality surfboards. Over 10,000 have been completed, 2,000 of them balsa wood. This board is over 41 years old. Robinson built it for the first industry trade show in Cocoa Beach. Although balsa wood was popular in the 1940’s, it was no longer a common material in ’76. Since the exposition, balsa wood boards have made a comeback at the ‘Ferraris of the surf board industry’. This board is made of 100% biodegradable balsa wood and will last over a century. Robinson, an East Coast surf champion (1978), still makes boards to this day.
