Dr. Patricia Riles Wickman

Dr. Patricia Riles Wickman is a native of St. Augustine, Florida, and author of four works on the history of the people called Seminoles. She is the former Senior Historian for the State of Florida and former Director of the Department of Anthropoogy and Genealogy for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, a Federally Recognized American Indian Tribe. She lived and worked with the Seminoles for over a decade and a half, in Florida and Oklahoma, and continues her researches, with the help of the Seminole people, to the present day. Her works include: Osceola’s Legacy (Rev. Ed.); The Tree That Bends: Discourse, Power, and the Survival of the Maskoki People; and Warriors Without War: Seminole Leadership in the Late Twentieth Century.
