Able A. Bartley is a native of Jacksonville, Florida.  He is director of the Pan-African Studies program at Clemson University.  Dr. Bartley is author of the books Akron, and Keeping the Faith: Race, Politics, and Social Development in Jacksonville, Florida, 1940-1970.
