IRAS will be here at the Brevard Museum Saturday the 11th, for their meeting and program. The lecture, “Multiple Levels of Anthropological/Historical Protection Across the United States” by Dr. Chamberlain is free and open to the public and starts at 2pm. Dr. Chamberlain will address both the advantages and disadvantages of strict historical preservation laws, and show how widely they vary from state to state.

Dr. Chamberlain holds a doctorate in Cultural Anthropology, served as the first Chairman of Rowley (Massachusetts) Historic District Commission, wrote an historical guide to that town (founded in 1639), and owned a home, bards, and mill dating from 1643 which are on the National Register.
