Catered luncheon at the Hyatt Regency. During the luncheon we will honor this year's award winners.
Afternoon at the Ringling ($40/$45)
We will board our private shuttle bus to visit the Ringling complex, where we will have docent-led tours of the Ringling Art Museum, Circus Museum, and Ca’ d’Zan.
Welcome Fiesta Dinner ($40/$45)
Upon return from our afternoon at the Ringling, it's time to relax and socialize with your fellow history entusiasts! Fajita stations and cash bar.
Night at the Movies
The evening will continue with a special viewing of the classic movie The Greatest Show on Earth. Introduction presented by Dr. Robert Snyder.
Historic Trolley Tour of Sarasota ($30/$35)
Local historian Sue Blue will narrate our Historic Sarasota Trolley Tour. Learn about the people and places that shaped Sarasotsa history. We’ll see landmarks including Bidwell House, Crocker Church, Broadway Bar, Chibsey Library, Sarasota Garden Club, and The Belle Tower.
Featured Keynote Speaker Banquet ($75/$80)
Keynote Speaker Harold Bubil will present A History of the Sarasota School of Architecture.
Harold Bubil’s first byline in a Sarasota newspaper was printed in December 1974. After serving in a variety of roles with the Sarasota Journal and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, he was real estate editor of the Herald-Tribune from 1994 until his recent retirement. In addition, he has written about architecture for the paper since 1999, and has even covered a few national hurricane conferences along the way. His favorite topics, in addition to real estate and architecture, include development history and green building.
Historical Bay Cruise aboard LeBarge Tropical Cruise ($35/$40)
Our chartered LeBarge Bay Cruise will pick up and drop off at the hotel dock. This is an expert-narrated cruise in beautiful Sarasota Bay. Learn who lived here; why Sarasota is unique on the west coast of Florida, and how the Bay of Mexico and the gentle bays surrounding us have formed a town unlike any other in Florida. Learn local history and enjoy our beautiful bay on our Historical Cruise on Sarasota tradition, Le Barge. Includes lunch served on the boat.
