Our mission is to publish the very best books on Florida history, literature and culture at reasonable prices. Quality books, prompt service and customer satisfaction are the hallmarks of the FHS Press and Chapin House Books experience! All profits generated through the sale of FHS Press/Chapin House Books are used to support the educational and preservation efforts of The Florida Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution. The Society, which owns FHS Press and Chapin House Books, receives no funding from any local, state or national governmental entity.

Company Profile

In 2003, the FHS Press Board made the decision to move from publishing an occasional book to creating an annual title list of fifteen to twenty publications. The FHS Press and Chapin House Books are determined to ensure that this mandate is met and that we create a large clientele of satisfied customers who return again and again because they know that quality matters. The FHS Press and Chapin House Books are members of PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Association and the Florida Publishers Association.
